Consider this when you hire a random field

You can try hiring a farmers field for your outdoor event or wedding, this will require a lot more work and research.

Here are some very good points to consider:

Farmers fields will very rarely have any facilities. Farmers do use their fields all year around for cropping, or for grazing animals. Farmers will need 6-12 months notice to prepare a field if this at all possible as a farmer’s crop will very likely be more valuable than the fees he may charge for an event or wedding.

Farmers fields will likely have a lot of weeds, or thistles , the surface likely to be uneven, with mole hills,
cattle ground damage, rabbit holes, thistles  etc.. If Livestock is present there will be a lot droppings
with take considerable time to break down, and a time needed to dissolve.

Check if the field is drained well, flat. Is it even accessible for any of your suppliers?
Will vans manage, trailers etc.. what is someone gets stuck?

Definitely get the Marquee, Tipi or Structure supplier to check if they are be able to access and set up in the field ?
Will it be flat enough ?  Can they get their trucks in without churning up the ground, or getting stuck ?  Will the toilet or Bin
supplier be able to access?  Where will your guests park ? etc..
Will you have time and resources to mow the grounds and remove the grass cuttings?

With no electricity on site, you will need to rent a big enough generator costing over £700 for a week end.
This will be noisy, and pumping out diesel exhaust fumes the entire time.

– Will you need to arrange for water for your guests, a water bowser will costs hundreds.
 – Trailer loos cost in excess of £580 for an event, have you factored this in?
Toilets + Generators will alone cost you around £1500+.

It is easy to see how the Haybarn venue offers such good value, when everything you need included! –  it is a no brainer
